“following the follower”

If you really wish to accomplish something in life then burn all the bridges. This saying holds so true especially when it is something difficult.

These days I keep getting this feeling that perhaps I have intentionally or unintentionally burnt most of my bridges. When one finds himself in such a situation, one has no choice but to work hard and with full focus. And where focus goes, energy flows.

This is the key to accomplishment.

For over a year, I have had a strong desire to pursue a worthy cause but I was also worried about finding the suitable job once I qualified. Just like everybody else. I followed what others did in my situation. They did it because they saw others doing the same thing. So many people doing the same thing must be right. So I followed the followers. That job took all my energy, all my attention. Constantly in the back of my mind was a desire that I had ignored for the time being because of the job.

Slowly I realised that I was growing in unhappiness and I am glad I did realise that soon enough to be able to make some hard decisions and also by God’s grace I have been in a position to do that. Not everyone is so fortunate. Life is too short. If we keep postponing our dreams or worthy cause, then a time will come when we will have nothing but regrets.

I do not want to be the one to have any regrets when my time comes. I want to be able to say to myself that I played full out. Right or wrong, I did it my way!
